Cissy - Yep, Susan
Meesha - Another virgin.
mary f - You'll do fine!

Cissy - virgins ahoy
Meesha - Denise, thank you!
Susan Kearney - Yes, Gayle has a HUNK on her cover.
O - Cissy
Meesha - Last hour was my first "official" chat too. I know I broke all the rules
Cissy - well heck, Gayle - just write for both lines and confuse me why don't you!
Denise - Linda has a hunk on her coover too...
BJ Daniels - Gayle, your cover guy is a hunk!
GayleWilson - Yuck! You are joking, Susan, right?
Susan Kearney - Celeste, Thank you, thank you thank you.
GayleWilson - It's okay, Cissy. I get confused, too. <G>
Susan Kearney - Gayle, I really liked him
Celeste - no too many rules, Denis....or Cissy would have pulled out the *whiP*
Linda O Johnston - Yes, I love my cover. I think it really fits the story.
Susan Kearney - Cissy how many whips do you have.
Susan Kearney - ?
Meesha - Did you get to approve the cover?
Cissy - as many as it takes, Susan!
GayleWilson - Susan, that's good to hear. He doesn't look like the character at all!

Cissy - Welcome everyone to our Harlequin Intrigue chat! We're talking tonight with Susan Kearney, Linda O. Johnston, B.J. Susan Kearney - Yes, Meesha
Susan Kearney - Linda's cover is a gorgeous blue
Cissy - Ladies, before we go on to Q&A, can we get each of you to tell us about your November book?
O -
Susan Kearney - And BJ's is awesome green.
Cissy - Susan will you start us off and tell us about ROYAL RANSOM?
Meesha - Gotta run. Little One is screaming again.
Susan Kearney - Royal Ransome is about a haughty princess and an undercover CIA hunk sent to protect her.
Meesha - E-mail me Denise...I really appreciate it!
Susan Kearney - But the CIA hunk needs protection from the Princess.
Susan Kearney - She doesn't play by the rules.
Susan Kearney - Especially when she wants to make love.
Cissy - ooh, bad Princess
Susan Kearney -
Susan Kearney - Very bad.
Denise - ?
Cissy - 2 questions, Denise?
mary f - Hello tami
Cissy - Hi tami Welcome to our Harlequin Intrigue chat! We're talking tonight with Susan Kearney, Linda O. Johnston, B.J. Daniels and Gayle wilson about their November releases from Harlequin Intrigue. We'll be working on protocol, so if you have questions for any of our authors, just type ? and I'll call on you in turn.
Denise - Will we see Nick and Erika in this one?
Cissy - hang on, Denise - I'll call on you
Cissy - Linda, will you tell us about TOMMY'S MOM ?
tami - Hello everyone!
Susan Kearney - Yes, Denise--Nick and Ericka are there but as minor characters.
Denise - Sorry!
Linda O Johnston - Sure. It's got a 4-year-old boy who may have seen his daddy's killer.
Cissy - oh, poor little boy
Linda O Johnston - His mom has had bad experiences with cops.
Cissy - ack, hope Denise comes back!
Linda O Johnston - And of course the hero is a cop who wants to take care of the downed fellow officer's family.
Cissy - sounds like a great setup for conflict, Linda
Linda O Johnston - I enjoyed writing the story. The hero's strong but he also loves kids.
Linda O Johnston - He's got it bad for the child's mother, too!
Cissy - BJ, will you tell us about PREMEDITATED MARRIAGE ?
BJ Daniels - PREMEDITATED MURDER is about woman mechanic and a true crime writer who thinks she murders her all her lovers. She thinks she
BJ Daniels - ..is cursed. Ooops
GayleWilson - RAFE SINCLAIR'S REVENGE: Rafe Sinclair left both the CIA and his partner Elizabeth Richards to hunt down a terrorist the agency refused to let him go after. When he finished that self-imposed assignment, he never returned to the elite External Security Team--or to Elizabeth. And he never offered her an explanation for that desertion. . .
GayleWilson - I didn't send that! I swear!
GayleWilson - I had it typed in, and it just went!
BJ Daniels - It's okay Gayle
GayleWilson - BJ, I'm so sorry!
BJ Daniels - My hero pretends to be her lover to prove she isn't cursed.
Cissy - lol, BJ - there's a novel approach
Cissy - um, no pun intended
BJ Daniels - You know men.
BJ Daniels - It's one of the scarier books I've done.
Cissy - Gayle, finish telling us about RAFE SINCLAIR'S REVENGE! You stopped at the good part...
Six years later Elizabeth is living under an agency-created identity, building a satisfying new life for herself. Or at least she has been, until one night Rafe walks into her house and straight back into her heart. Together they must track down a man Rafe is certain he killed five years ago. A man who is now bent on the ultimate revenge: to take from Rafe Sinclair the only thing the ex-operative values--the life of the woman he never stopped loving. GayleWilson - I had to cut and paste! <G>
Cissy - "cut and paste" is our friend, Gayle
Cissy - Okay! On to Q&A -- I know you guys have questions
Cissy - Susan Kearney has the first question (Denise, O in line)
GayleWilson - Ah, yes!
Denise - Susan, any plans for another trilogy based in the same kingdom?
Susan Kearney - Denise, Not in Vashmira. My next trilogy comes out in April and is part of an 8 book series that goes from Intrigue to Blaze.
Cissy - Susan, you had a question?
Denise - Too bad! Do you mean the next series will be across both lines?
Susan Kearney - Not that I know of.
Susan Kearney - Denise, Yes. 6 Intrigues and 2 Blazes. It's called Heroes Inc.
Denise - ?
Cissy - oops, I thought I saw you put up a ? before
Cissy - O has the next question (Denise in line)
Celeste -
Susan Kearney - That was an error. Sorry, Cissy.
Cissy - O, your question?
O - Sorry got knocked off What inspired the authors to write did they hear vocies
Cissy - no problem, Susan
GayleWilson - No voices. The authors I loved just didn't write fast enough. I decided to write my own stories.
Susan Kearney - O, Ideas come from everywhere. Sometimes the characters talk to me. Is that what you mean by voices?
Cissy - that's nice and proactive, Gayle
Susan Kearney - ?
BJ Daniels - I like to try to scare myself.
GayleWilson - Desperation. <g>
Cissy - do you have a question, Susan?
Linda O Johnston - I'm often inspired by places, but Tommy's Mom came from a newspaper article.
Susan Kearney - Yes, Can we PLEASE turn off the protocol?
Cissy - oh, can you tell us the inspiration for it, Linda?
Cissy - Sure, Susan! Let me get Denise and Celeste's questions out and then we'll just chat.
Susan Kearney - Thank you.
Denise - BJ, Gayle, Linda and Susan: any advice for aspiring Intrigue writers?
GayleWilson - Read the line!
Susan Kearney - Persistence
Linda O Johnston - An LA Times article described how police take care of downed officers' families. I knew that happened, but these characters started talking to me.
BJ Daniels - Write the kind of book you'd like to read.
O - Hey what does your O stand for Linda?
Linda O Johnston - Ah, my O is a secret! Actually, it's to distinguish me from all the Johnsons and Johnstons.
Cissy - Celeste, your question?
BJ Daniels - Denise, what is it you like about Intrigues?
Celeste - Susan, you said there would be a total of 8 books in the Heroes Inc series and I know you are doing the first 3 as Intrigues...will you be writing the other 5 books or will they be by various Intrigue and Blaze authors?
Susan Kearney - All of them are mine.
Denise - BJ, the constant edge of something is going to happen mixed with the H/H falling in love
Celeste - oh cool
Susan Kearney - Except one of the Blazes is an anthology so there are two other authors but their stories aren't connected to the series.
BJ Daniels - Then Denise that's what you should write.
Cissy - Okay, off protocol folks! Chatter away
Cissy - hey, can I ask a question?
Susan Kearney - Yeah. For the newbies, that means you type whenever you want.
Susan Kearney - Yes, Cissy
O - Ok what does BJ stand for Bobby Jean?
Cissy - yep, no waiting to be called on. Talk to whoever you want
Susan Kearney - And BJ I want to know why your book is scary.
Denise - BJ, I've noticed that limits of what happens seem to be looser the last couple of years han previous Intrigues
Cissy - I always like to hear about favorite scenes - what are you guys' favorite scenes in your new books?
BJ Daniels - B.J. stands for my maiden name: Barbara Johnson
Denise - Is this a new trend? The guidelines are the smae...
GayleWilson - My favorite scene is the last one where the hero proposes.
O - are you realted to Linda?
Susan Kearney - My favorite scenes are when the heroine manipulates all the pwerful men around her and the men don't have a clue.
GayleWilson - Denise, what do you mean by the "limits of what happens seems to be looser"?
Cissy - lol, Susan - that sounds fun
BJ Daniels - Susan, I'm not sure why this book is the scariest.
Linda O Johnston - My favorite scenes are when the hero gets the silent child to talk, which really makes the heroine happy, too.
Denise - LOL Susan! That's what I like about all of your heroines...they are just confident but smarter than most men as well
BJ Daniels - My editor said the prologue was terrifying.
O - Linda do you write Comptenary?
Susan Kearney - BJ, Is there a storm in the book?
BJ Daniels - There are storms in all my books.
Linda O Johnston - O, do you mean contemporary? I'm writing contemporary stories now for Intrigue, though I've written time travels for other publishers.
Susan Kearney - Gay, Are you doing more books in your series, too?
BJ Daniels - I love the cover because it really captures the feel of the book.
Cissy - lol, BJ
GayleWilson - I'm doing at least one more Phoenix.
Denise - Gayle, there were some things that just didn't happen in the line: minor characters, not married having sex, etc. There seems to be more latitude in plot lines...
O - I like time travel what name do you use Linda
GayleWilson - Thanks for clarifying, Denise.
Susan Kearney - Linda, Have you written an Intrigue time travel?
Linda O Johnston - So far, I've always written under Linda O. Johnston.
BJ Daniels - There is more latitude, Denise. My book has a battered woman in it and a town that does nothing to save her.
> Linda O Johnston - No, Susan, so far I haven't done an Intrigue time travel, but that sounds like fun!
Denise - That's good news...
O - You
BJ Daniels - Don't you guys think Intrigue is really open to a lot of different plot lines now?
Linda O Johnston - My time travels generally had some suspense in them. I love to write suspense.
Susan Kearney - Hey Tami and Mary F, Are you all aspiring writers?
O - BJ what kinds of books have you wtritten
O - 12
BJ Daniels - O, Just Intrigues and short stories.
Susan Kearney - Linda, What about a legal thriller?
Denise - I wonder if all avid readers are really writers at heart.
mary f - Avid reader
Linda O Johnston - I'm definitely working on ideas for legal thrillers, since I'm a lawyer as well as a writer.
BJ Daniels - I'm with Linda, I LOVE suspense.
Cissy - not me, Denise
Susan Kearney - Yes, BJ. I'm doing an Olympic athlete and a hero from the future who travels to the present.
O - Gayle what kind of books do you write?
Denise - I must say: once you write, you appreciate what other authors can do in a mere sentence
GayleWilson - I became a writer because I was an avid reader, but a lot of friends of mine are just content to read.
Celeste - I'm an avid reader and have NO desire to try to write a book
GayleWilson - O, I write romantic suspense and Regency set historicals.
Susan Kearney - Maryf--You are what keep us employed.
BJ Daniels - I'm doing a series that will have a lot humor along with suspense.
Cissy - what are you guys working on now?
BJ Daniels - Bless you, Celeste.
GayleWilson - I'm picking up a minor character from Rafe's book and writing his story.
tami - I hear you Cel! Strictly a reader here!
Susan Kearney - I' doing a series with Linda and Ann Voss Peterson called Shotgun Sally.
O - What authors do you like to read when you get a chance
Denise - Gayle, I loved Rafe...he's a strong character
BJ Daniels - My first series by myself is set in Oregon and has Bigfoot and duck makers in it.
GayleWilson - Thanks, Denise. He's very special to me.
Susan Kearney - Tami and Mary--What kinds aof stories are your favorites?
Cissy - oh cool, Gayle - I love spinoff stories
GayleWilson - O, I read everything when I have the time. Not just suspense and not just fiction.
Susan Kearney - What's a duck maker?
O - Rafe"s?? what is the name of the book
Cissy - Bigfoot and duck makers??
Denise - Me too! Addicted to series
Susan Kearney - I read almost everything.
BJ Daniels - Duck carvers for decoys.
GayleWilson - O, it's RAFE SINCLAIR'S REVENGE
tami - well, mostly historicals, but I am broadening my horizons
GayleWilson - Rafe is a spin-off of my last historical trilogy.
mary f - All I ask a book to do is entertain me I"M EASY!
Susan Kearney - Our intrigue heroes share many qualities of the historical heroes.
GayleWilson - Tami, welcome to the "dark side."
O - Where do all the authors Live
BJ Daniels - Oh, Mary F that's out our goal.
Susan Kearney - Ah, Mary--you are wonderful
GayleWilson - They're all knights!
Susan Kearney - Florida
GayleWilson - Alabama
BJ Daniels - Oops. That's our goal. I live in Montana
Linda O Johnston - I live in LA, and I'm working on an Intrigue set not far from my home.
Denise - Didn't know that...wasn't the Hide and Seek series based in Florida? Or one of your other series?
Denise - Bama girl here
Susan Kearney - Do you all realize--we all picked blue for our colors?
tami - LOL,Gayle, that is why I am here, I love to find new stuff to read!
GayleWilson - Oh, dear! Minor emergency on the home front. I'm going to have to bow out a few minutes early. It's been great fun. Happy reading!
GayleWilson - Where in Bama, Denise? I had to ask.
Denise - Thanks Gayle!
Denise - Mobile
Susan Kearney - Denise, Yes, Hide and Seek was based in Florida. It's always easier to research close to home.
Susan Kearney - Bye Gay
BJ Daniels - Susan, where are you in Florida
GayleWilson - Love the Gulf! Lucky you. Okay, guys I'm gone. Night all!
BJ Daniels - Bye Gay

Susan Kearney - Well, call me and we'll do lunch.
Cissy - oops, Denise, i lose track
Susan Kearney - Yes. Nativity is still there. The church is new and gigantic.
O - Susan what kind of books do you write?
Susan Kearney - Denise, I live on Gornto Lake by Hwy 60
Denise - Cissy, we'd love to have you come to our RWA meeting. We're having a conference in April.
Susan Kearney - O--I like to write hot suspense for Intrigue, Blazes and I've done a Star Trek.
