torycates - well thanks Suze, i wish i would too.
Cissy - stick to your guns, Sarah. It'll be a better movie if you're able to write it
torycates - i'm sure NOT "A list" though i did have a movie on CBS in March that I wrote called Yesterday's Children with Jane Seymour
SaraR - well, I think you should stand your ground. They can massacure a good thing. (that isn't spelled correctly is it?) *sigh*
torycates - yeah, i am sticking to my guns. hey, we
SaraR - really? wow!
torycates - we'll all still eat whether Yokota becomes a movie or not
torycates - Yeah, Yesterday's Children was my first TV job. and god was it hard!!!
SaraR - hmm, a side question. Since you live in Austin, are you part of the film making community down there?
SaraR - hard?
torycates - well i know pretty much all the screenwriters down here. they are wonderful. though i have to say my all-time favorite group of writers remains romance
torycates - hard. yes, i was fired and had to go the Screenwriters guiild to arbitrate for credit. it's a tough world.
Cissy - what are you working on now, Sarah?
SaraR - do you still hang out with romance authors? will you be coming to the RWA conference in Dallas in 03?
torycates - Is the conference in Dallas. I'm a charter member of the RWA. My first year's dues were $15. seemed like a lot at the time.
SuzeK - well, shoot. that sounds like its hard. I think you should write more books // grin
torycates - I agree about writing more books. publishing is a dream world compared to HWood.
SaraR - I think it is, Sarah. I would have to check. But I think it is at Adam's Mark in either 03 or 04

SaraR - well, you definitely need to write FASTER and can you re release your oop books (out of print)

torycates - there was an auction for paperback rights to Yokota which will come out next spring and that publisher, Ballantine, is interested in bringing my old books back which i am utterly thrilled aobut

torycates - Hi, cissy, i am embarrassed to say that I started a book and have sort of abandoned it in the wake of 9-11 and also because my dad passed away recently.
SaraR - I am tired of telling people to try and get them on ebay
SaraR - and what they sell for is ridiculous!!! TBS is $125 (last week)
Cissy - I'm sorry, Sarah ... it's been hard for all of us to concentrate since 9/11
torycates - both events have really made me do some major reevaluating. i will say that the longer i think about it the more i want to do just a flat out funny book.
SaraR - I am sorry, Sarah.
SaraR - well, flat out funny would be a treat!! you do humor so well!!
torycates - thanks sara, you know though writing Yokota and having him be able to read that before he passed away was such a major blessing, it was really wonderful and a great comfort that he loved it.
SaraR - and this past month has made us all re evaluate -- and need more funny things to read. at least true for me
torycates - yeah, i think i'd like to see if i still can write a funny book
SaraR - well, from your correspondence with me, I would say you still have it!
