Tori Carrington - On the question of how long we've been writing...seventeen years. But it took us thirteen and half before we sold our first book. Constant Craving, our 1st Temptation, was out in Jan '99. Our November Blaze will bring us to nine books released so far. Pretty kewl, huh? Perseverance does pay. Just remember, everyone has their own road to hoe. Ours just happened to be longer than most. But we're definitely not complaining.

MadelineHunter - writerchik--first, I don't panic and just accept it is normal. The temptation is to lose faith in the story when that happens, but it is a passing thing. Then, sometimes I just skip the scene or chapter I am on and go to one with more action or a turning point--and often discover I didn't need the stuff in between anyway, and I was tired of it because it was boring, lol.

MadelineHunter - writerchik--I think the best advice is to write a lot,and to write stories that really excite you. It helps to learn about some of the conventions of the genre you are targeting--length, taboo subjects, etc., so that you do not find out later that you have a story twice as long as it should be (like I did after my first ms., lol). But keep producing new material, don't get hung up on the first story and wait for it to be bought before writing the next one.
