A Numbers Game
by Tracy Solheim

Love is worth more than the sum of its hearts...

CPA Merrit Callahan learned early not to let passion unravel her orderly life. Back in college she fell hard for a football player, only to be devastated when she discovered he’d been duping her all along—dared by his teammates to score with his bookish tutor. Now, after her back-stabbing fiancé breaks off their engagement, Merrit flees to Baltimore to escape the fallout.

After eight years in the pros, a series of concussions have forced Heath Gibson out of the NFL. The transition from player to coach for the Baltimore Blaze hasn’t been smooth, but finding himself face-to-face with Merrit Callahan makes the ride even rockier. He’s been filled with regret ever since a stupid team prank caused Merrit to run away from him a decade earlier.

Merrit’s stunned to reconnect with Heath. And despite the authenticity of his reignited feelings this time around, Merrit’s got her mind set on payback. She’ll give Heath a night he won’t forget and then walk away. But Heath’s hold on her heart—and the rest of her body—is difficult to break...

Tracy Solheim's Bio

My creative writing career started in the fourth grade when I published my first book. It was a bestseller—mainly because my dad bought all ten copies I’d made on the school’s prehistoric Xerox machine. From there, I moved to newspaper reporting with a monthly column in a local newspaper. A bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Tennessee landed me in Washington, DC, where I wrote reports for Congress while pursuing a Master’s degree in Legislative Affairs from The George Washington University. Aside from a brief stint in television production for NBC Sports at the Seoul Olympics, most of my early writing consisted of crafting lengthy government reports. Not exactly the most scintillating backlist, I know! My creative writing projects had to wait until I could squeeze them in between my paying gig and my family’s busy schedule.

In 2009, my first work of fiction, GAME ON, was recognized as a finalist for the prestigious Maggie Award for Excellence. The following year, my second manuscript, LESS THAN PERFECT, was a finalist in the same contest. In June, 2012, Berkley Publishing contracted with me to publish GAME ON and two additional books.

Currently, I live in Johns Creek, Georgia, with my husband, two teenagers, an aging Labrador Retriever and a pony named after a monkey. When I’m not writing, I enjoy photography, cooking, and reading—shocker, right? Be sure to friend me on Facebook or follow me on Twitter.
