Nancy Herkness' Bio

I realized that long-held ambition with my debut novel A Bridge to Love, published as part of the Berkley Sensation launch in August 2003. I was born and raised in the mountains of West Virginia. I graduated from Princeton University with a degree in English. In addition to my academic work in English literature, I was accepted into Princeton's Creative Writing Program, and my senior thesis was a volume of original poetry. Working first in retailing and then in data processing, I finally took the plunge: I quit my job and composed a romance novel. I put my literary career on hold when my first child was born. Once my youngest child was settled in first grade, I returned to the word processor and wrote A Bridge to Love. A member of Romance Writers of America and New Jersey Romance Writers, I also write book reviews, press releases and newsletters. I live in suburban New Jersey with my husband, two children and a golden retriever.
