A Mother to His Children
by K. N. Casper

When Julie First's boyfriend proposes on the condition that she devote herself to him and his banking career, she can't flee fast enough. She's going to put all her energy into working for the school district, instead, now that she's received her master's degree in education.

The job sounds great, except the final clause in her contract makes her promise not to criticize the administration. Julie finds the demand odd and offensive, but she goes along until she can no longer ignore growing evidence of corruption.

Or is it?

School board member Rolf Murdock thinks Julie's concerns are exaggerated, but he'll help her investigate. Although his first wife left him to pursue her career, he's as charmed by career woman Julie as she is by him and his four children.

Soon they're investigating more than a cover-up!

K. N. Casper's Bio

Ken Casper, aka K. N. Casper, figures his writing career started in the sixth grade when he was ordered by a teacher to write a "theme" explaining his misbehavior over the previous semester. To his teacher's chagrin, he enjoyed stringing just the right words together to justify his less than stellar performance. Fortunately, she forgave him.

Born and raised in New York City, Ken is now a transplanted Texan. He and Mary, his wife of 27 years, own a horse farm in San Angelo. Along with their border collie, Chief, they have a golden retriever, Casey, two house cats, four barn cats and eight horses. They also board and breed horses and Mary teaches English riding. She's a therapeutic riding instructor for the handicapped, as well.

Life is never dull at Little Oaks Farm. Their two granddaughters visit several times a year and feel right at home with the Casper menagerie. Grampa and Mimi do everything they can to make sure their visits to West Texas will be lifelong fond memories. After all, isn't that what grandparents are for?
