| Romantic Times Booklovers Convention - Houston, TX Nov 13, 2000 |
|
Friday was filled with workshops for readers, authors, booksellers and aspiring authors. Small but well attended workshops that were helpful to the appropriate audience. Topics ranged from category romance, historical romance, paranormal romance with witches, vampires, fairies and ghosts. Epublishers and small press, mystery and romance and bookselling and collecting. In the Readers Room, authors sat at small tables to chat with their readers, distribute information on releases, and sign books. Baskets of books and goodies surrounded the walls of the crowded room. Tarot card readings, massages and aromatherapy helped to refresh the tired conventioneer.
Each of the male models competing in the Mr. Romance Competition were introduced and fans had the chance to get signed photos or to pose with a model on the ‘cover’ of Romantic Times. (And yeah, I got a couple, see me later.) They also promised to stop by the chat on Sunday in the Ballroom.
