Some people find a New Year and the resolutions that can come with it a burden, but not me. I love a fresh start.
In fact, I welcome any fresh start that I can get: the new pristine page in a daily desktop calendar, the arrival of a new month, even the change of season.
Yet those all pale in comparison to the promise the New Year brings.
Call me, well, a reader, but I think a New Year should come with new books, and luckily publishers seem to agree—releasing a nice trove of new titles this month, just as we all return to our regular budgets and permission to shop for something for ourselves.
Leading the new reading bounty for January 2017 is New York Times Bestselling Author Catherine Anderson’s Mulberry Moon. Ben Sterling longs to settle down and start a family, like his brothers have, in Mystic Creek, Oregon, but so far the woman of his dreams has proven elusive. Or such was the case until the local café got a new owner. Sissy Sue Bentley intends to make the new business a success on her own, and she hasn’t been shy about letting Ben know she doesn’t think she needs another man in her life to do that. Still, tender Ben is hard to resist, and it looks like forever is just around the corner for the two of them when Sissy’s past comes blowing back into her life. Can love hold these two together against the gathering storm?
New York Times Bestselling Author Diana Palmer starts off the New Year with the latest title in her Wyoming Men Series: Wyoming Brave. A broken engagement has left Ren Colter prickly and isolated on his Wyoming ranch, but his innate chivalry forces him to offer a blonde stranger being stalked by a brut from her past a safe haven. Meredith Grayling knows Ren means well, but the rancher is a tad too appealing for her shot nerves. Can she muster the courage to see where things might lead with this Colter cowboy?
Meanwhile, New York Times Bestselling Author Allison Brennan’s new eNovella Deliver Us From Evil is due out January 9 for those who would prefer to start the New Year with a scare. Demonologist Anthony Zaccardi failed to save the twelve priests slaughtered at a historic California mission, but he’s determined to send their killer back to hell. He’d also like to keep the fact that demons are in town quiet, and he just might get away with it since the sexy local sheriff, Skye McPherson, refuses to believe anything supernatural is at work. It isn’t long before Anthony realizes to deliver them from evil, he will first have to win Skye’s trust … and then, just maybe, her heart could also be his.
If you have a book you’re dying to start the New Year with, let us know! Cause if the weather predictions are right, we should all have some days ahead just perfect for hunkering down with a good book.
Here’s to a year of good reading!
